About Us - Caras Cards

I’m Cara, a mother of 2 from Cheshire and Wife to a professional photographer.
With a strong background in Art and Design from a young age, card making was a hobby and became a natural career path for me when my eldest daughter was born.

Turning my back on my old job behind the bright lights of the theatre, I began to put my artistic talents to good use in order to help others. Cara’s Cards began its life in 2006 under another name – Shop4Baby – selling purely baby stationery via a popular UK auction site.
With a steady stream of orders coming in and a lot of interest from customers at trade fairs, I decided to expand into Wedding Stationery and, given the now unfitting business name, decided to rename the company Cara’s Cards.
My first wedding stationery order was actually my own, I had an odd colour scheme which nowhere seemed to cater for so I decided to go it alone but in hindsight I wish I hadn’t!
A bride has so much to think about when it comes to planning a wedding that making her own stationery (unless obviously she wants to!) should be the last thing on her mind, its time consuming and often frustrating and doesn’t just end with the invitations. I too, like many other brides to be, though it would be the cheaper option but when you add up the hours spent cutting, gluing and addressing envelopes the cost soon mounts up.

I decided that my prices should be honest, to reflect the material and labour costs but to not charge over the odds, and to allow women to offload the worry of their stationery, safe in the knowledge that the personal touch offered by Cara’s Cards will be a huge addition to their special day.
